Birding in Longmont

DRAGONS FLY!!!!!!

These jeweled wings were found along various trails, lakes and streams in Longmont, Colorado.  We are rookie dragonfly/damselfly groupies and have lots to learn.  Right now we are learning to classify, identify and photograph these beautiful creations.

Dragonflies inspire many people in many different ways.  For me they symbolize summer, nature's beauty, freedom and photographic opportunity.  These pictures certainly don't do justice to the true beauty these winged jewels posses, but we will continue to try and capture these beautiful creatures on our cameras, I almost said film, lol

  1. Hiya Deborah!

I've been enjoying acquainting myself with your blog and your travel tails. A lot of the traveling I do now is due to birding, and I always bird when I travel :)
I dig your photos and your expressive writing style as a part of the great exuberance you convey in describing your birding adventures.

Let me know if y'all ever find yourselves birding/visiting Phoenix and/or Arizona! Lots of birds to see here.

    Cheers!
